Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The Conseil Régional Nouvelle-Aquitaine (“Nouvelle-Aquitaine” Regional Council) is forming, aside with the economic, social and environmental regional council, the Nouvelle Aquitaine region. Its assembly is composed of 183 regional concillors, involved in a permanent commission and several sectorial commissions. These institutions have the mission to support economic, social and educational development for any citizens and companies in the region.
Need
Unfortunately, Schools were keeping their old internal tools as the existing version of RBS was too simplistic to answer to the teachers and staffs needs.
Rethinking RBS’s features became mandatory to boost its adoption accross schools.
Solution
Improve accessibility and ergonomics
The site was developed using the latest web technologies (HTML5 / AngularJS and Java) to ensure high level ergonomics on any device – laptop, tablet or mobile.
Access to features was redesigned to offer the most intuitive experience to users, allowing them to :
- view the agenda by day and by month,
- export agenda under iCal and pdf format for one or several ressources and defined periods,
- choose color display for every ressource and type of ressource,
- display booking details by a simple overview.
Provide advanced management features
Users of the new version can access all ressources within all schools and view all updates history (modifications as well as cancellations).
As an example, classroom booking slots are updated in real time, as soon as one user save a modification or a cancellation. To manage all those features in real time mode, a back-end based on WS REST, Vert.x, MongoDB and Neo4J was used.
